Course Outline

An intensive two-day course designed specifically for keen, dynamic, experienced falconers who wish to become professional bird control operatives or start a business in that field.

This course concentrates on presenting and discussing the complex challenges of bird control, professional solutions and effective selling techniques.

The course includes discussions on equipment and techniques, plus practical demonstrations.

The course fee includes course materials, exam costs, refreshments and lunch on both days; accommodation is not included.  Please let us have any special dietary requirements at least 7 working days in advance.

This course is limited to a maximum of six students.

Fees for all courses are payable at time of booking

Cancellation of course within 30 working days or less – no refund given;

Cancellation of course within 31-60 working days – 50% refund.

A VAT receipt will be issued on request.

This is an assessed course.  At the end of the course, delegates will sit an exam which is divided into three sections.  There will be a total of 50 questions in a mix of single line, list and multiple-choice format.

Section A – Biology, Behaviour and Natural History of Avian Pest Species - 15 questions.

Section B – Avian Pest Control Techniques - 20 questions.

Section C – Health & Safety and Legislation - 15 questions.

Time Allowed: 60 minutes.

Pass Mark: 65% overall, with a minimum of 50% in all sections.

The exam process can be adapted, and reasonable adjustments made, for candidates with dyslexia etc.  Advanced notification must be given to our office (minimum 10 working days), and the candidate must be able to provide proof of any learning difficulties.  An additional fee will be payable should a reader and/or scribe be required.
